He keeps himself grounded during the 82-game NBA season, by studying stuff that comes out of the ground.
Rocks, crystals, and the symbolism associated with each, are a hobby of his.
His 2024 Defensive Player of the Year gift from Nike – a pair of Custom “Obsidian” SB Dunks.
Hand hydrodipped, and painted to simulate the striations in obsidian.
And as we all know, obsidian is known as the rock of protection.
